I like to use what's in front of me as drawing subjects, instead of ignoring it, which would be much harder. I'm interested in the culture of India (formerly Bharat), since it's a source for a lot of Abrahamic (Jewish, Christian, and Muslim), religious myths, as it's a much older culture. It's also a source of english words - often introduced by Arabs - see the Arab Words projects. AMAR CHITRA KATHA is a 400 comic series based on India's mythology, history, and literature. It's their Classics Illustrated.
