Liberty Dollar

This article, which imagines the ensuing fall of the US dollar comments on "Fiat Currency Versus The Liberty Dollar" originally broadcast as part of Super Structures: Making Money, on The Learning Channel January 9 2004. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1VaBX7A9FqA. The most interesting portion runs 3 minutes 50 seconds to 8:00. I wrote and published it March 2007 on Sundaymag.ca where I was also managing editor.
In 2009, at Artspeak Gallery it was part of Mohamed Salemy's (publisher-Sundaymag.ca) contribution to the exhibition "Speaking Truth to Reconciliation".

Liberty Dollar
As Iran gets ready to accept all currencies, but mainly Euros in exchange for oil, even within the “homeland”, of it’s empire, US citizens are now distancing themselves from their monolithic currency system. This currency system was/is of a sufficient mass to make it the worlds most stable, thus becoming a default exchange currency which triggered a speculation in its symbolic value. This then enabled the US in A to spare no expense to endlessly export or externalize it’s problems globally for over 100 years. A major change within just the last year is a tacit confirmation, especially in the unallied nations, or Brown World, that the US is no longer pivotal to the global economy.

After this i was finally dotted, key economic entities such as Japan no longer felt compelled to keep the US in A dollar afloat. They are now fairly certain, among other things, that a collapsed US economy will likely lead to more productive use of the worlds resources, NOUN and a resulting, exponentially larger wealth created in turn will result in huge commodity demands. The economic collapse of the US will create global prosperity rather than further GLOBAL/UNCLEAR collapse.

In the news item above, take care to notice that in mass media, the ending of a piece must always present a reinforcement of the status quo, even though an objective view was purportedly perpetrated. The move by Iran was finally forced by US dominated UN Councils (which are rampant), instigating sanctions against it for actions which do not, in fact, break any international agreements.

Of note is Iran’s major customer, Japan, said to have been forced into war with the USA through that governments actions in cutting off the supply of oil to Japan’s burgeoning economy. This conflict resulted in what is globally understood - particularly in the larger and eternal (as eternal at least as the species), Brown World as history’s largest incidence/T of terrorism, the nuclear bombing of Nagasaki and Hiroshima.

John Anderson Dying Is Hard/ No One Has Ever Looked So Dead at XENO Gallery, 183 East Broadway, Vancouver, BC, March 21 - May 11 2003

Book-ended by retail and other businesses the narrow passage of hall that constitutes the XENO Gallery appropriately provides the spatial medium, the conduit as it were, by which Anderson tunes us into contemporary mutations on the tail-chasing McLuhan formula "the medium is the message" As tidy fusion of medium and message, a photographic triptych portraying the otherworldly ecstasy of a pop singer, a computer generated sign chain of aggression which ranges from action film poster slogans to screaming t-shirts and a subliminally reconstituted European Union flag combine to echo the totalizing machinations of corporate culture propaganda. The consumer of mass culture, coddled within the yoke of the nation-state, comforted by the ever-presence of their ubiquitous pop entertainment god, through the pret a porter of popularized slogans, instantly, is free to acquire an identity. Via his channeling of varying cultural modulations into a singular media-stream, Anderson, in slick fashion, re-broadcasts our cultural state apparatus' unabated seamless marketing of violence. The show's transmissions, though appearing to subvert the products of a capitalist media, oscillate in the ether of white noise as a question suspending verdict on whether contemporary artistic practice generates counter-culture or merely reinforces media culture and its varying subsets.
